Simma is a swimming technology that can be used with both Apple Watch and Garmin watches. It can be used to:
- Record Pool Swims
- Record Open Water Swims
- Install and Swim Workouts pushed to your watch
- Add a new Pool so the Pool lengths offered in the main menu include different pool lengths you might swim in.
However, the setup process can vary depending on the device you are using. In this article, we will explain how to connect your watch to Simma based on the device type.

Connecting to Watches from iOS Devices
If you're using an iOS device, you can download the Simma Beta app via test flight. This is the recommended way to use Simma with your Apple Watch or Garmin watch for optimal performance.
Apple Watch: After downloading the Simma app, your workouts will be sent directly to your Apple Watch. If you can't find Simma on your watch, you can go to the Watch app on your phone > select "My Watch," > then go to "Available apps" to install the SwimApp.
Garmin Watch: To connect your Garmin watch to Simma, go to "Progress," > "Advanced Metrics" > then click on Connect your Garmin account > log in to your Garmin connect account > and use the Swim with Garmin swim app.
Connecting to watches from other devices.
If you're not using an iOS device, you can still access Simma through the webite at www.getsimma.com.
Apple Watch: Unfortunately, Simma does not currently support connection with Apple Watch via the Simma web interface.
Garmin Watch: To connect your Garmin watch to Simma, go to "Progress," > "Advanced Metrics" > then click on Connect your Garmin account > log in to your Garmin connect account > and use the Swim with Garmin swim app.
In conclusion, connecting your watch to Simma is a straightforward process. Just follow the steps above, and you'll be ready to use Simma for your next swim workout!
